Our Hydrotherapy Pool
The dimensions of our pool are 5m x 2.5m x 1.2m deep. This size pool is perfectly suited for the hydrotherapy requirements of all sizes and types of pets. Our pool is above ground level and has a large viewing window to enable you to get a better view of your pet's range of movement in the pool. You will be able to see the improvement from one session to the next and gain a greater understanding of the treatment being administered to your dog.
Our pool also features a non-slip internal and external ramp which allows comfortable and easy access for your pet. Water temperature is kept between 28c and 30c; this relaxes the muscles and improves the blood circulation.
Our pool has an underwater jet system to allow for extra resistance if needed. The pool water is tested at least three times daily to ensure optimum clarity and hygiene at all times. The pool water is also dependently tested monthly for bacteria and annually for legionella.

Shower
We provide showering facilities for your pet. Before each session they will be showered to remove any debris and to warm up the muscles ready for swimming. We will also shower your pet after their session to help cool down the muscles and rinse the pool water off their coats.
Drying facilities
Our centre offers a blast dryer which we use to dry your pet with. Not all pets will allow us to use this so we do ask you to bring a towel along with you, if this is the case. We do not want any pets leaving our centre wet and cold.
Buoyancy aids
Your pet will be fitted with a life jacket. We also provide harnesses for the dogs that are at a higher fitness level and/or recovering well from their injury or illness.

Our Aquatic Treadmill
The Tudor Neptune Aquatic Treadmill is a treadmill designed by hydrotherapists for hydrotherapists. It is state of the art and allows water levels, speed, duration and incline to be adjusted on the touch screen attached to the treadmill.
It's extended length means that even the largest pets can be treated in the chamber with the hydrotherapist in with the pet providing for maximum safety and allows a fully controlled environment for your dog to be treated in.
Having both a pool and treadmill means that Chesterfield Hydrotherapy Referral Centre has the facilities to treat all conditions and all pets.
